Allow us to introduce ourselves. Our names are Gisele Pelosi and Pascaline Nzigamasabo. We were born in Rwanda but now live in London. We have a deep affection for the country of our birth and continue to maintain close contact with family and friends back home.
During our visits to Rwanda we have come to realise that some women are still not able to contribute to society or achieve their potential. The Rwandese Genocide against Tutsis disrupted lives and education. Despite enormous progress in the country over recent years, some women are still disadvantaged. We are determined to help as many of them as possible, hence the birth of the Umucyo Foundation.
Our aim is to raise money and channel this to projects in support of these women. All of our efforts are voluntary.
